The New York Theatre Ballet will dance on the Boykin Center stage on Wednesday, March 20, in a 7:30 p.m. show.
Wilson County fourth-graders will see the show the day before and will also take part in a short discussion on jobs that are involved in productions.
New York Theatre Ballet was founded in 1978 by artistic director Diana Byer and has earned national acclaim for its restoration and revival of small masterworks by great choreographers, performed in an ensemble style.
The company’s family and adult programs tour both nationally and abroad, and the company is known for its theatrical expressiveness, high production quality and intimate accessibility to every audience member. With its shorter length (just over an hour) and engaging visual content, this show is a good choice for families.
This performance has been made possible by Boykin Series sponsors, with additional funding provided by the Wilson Economic Development Council, the North Carolina Community Foundation, Comfort Inn and Suites, Southern Bank and Deloitte.
Tickets are $25 and are available by calling the Arts Council at 252-291-4329, visiting the box office at the Boykin Center (Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), or visiting the Arts Council website at www.wilsonarts.com to purchase tickets online through the eTix link.
