The Arts Council of Wilson and Barton College will present “Matilda the Musical” as the ninth annual summer community musical.

Auditions are May 20 and 21 at the Boykin Center: 5 to 7 p.m. for elementary and middle school students and 6 to 9 p.m. for all other age groups. Call-back date is May 23, 5 to 9:30 p.m.

Inspired by Roald Dahl, this Tony Award-winning show is a captivating masterpiece that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life.

Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, this show has a wide variety of parts for all age ranges. The show will be produced by the Arts Council of Wilson in partnership with Barton College. Stage and musical direction are by Caleb Skinner; choreography is by Trish Bradshaw.
