Preservation of Wilson is calling all artists to be part of the annual Preservation of Wilson Garden Party and Fine Art Show to be held on Sunday, May 6, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The event will be located in the garden of the Vernon Mason and Andrew Summerlin at 1120 Watson Drive. This is the former “Hackney home” and will offer the setting for a Southern garden party filled with laid-back elegance.
The art show is open this year to member and non-member artists. The goal is to present a wide range of work representing North Carolina.
Deadline to enter is April 6.
The art show is open to all artists in North Carolina working in any medium. Artists can submit up to five art pieces that must be completed and submitted to the committee chairs on May 5. Work must have never been shown before at a Preservation of Wilson Fine Art Show and must be available for sale. No commission will be taken by Preservation of Wilson. There will be a $10 submission fee per artist who is not already a member of Preservation of Wilson.
Inspiration for their artwork should come through the artist’s wonderful North Carolina experiences.
All artists interested in participating in the event must submit the submission form found at www.preservationofwilson.com under Events. If you would like an application mailed or have questions, contact any one of the art committee members or Kathy Bethune at firstname.lastname@example.org or 252-234-7694. Anne Sauerborn Joyner and Betsy Peters Rascoe are co-chairs of the event. Additional members of the art committee are Sally Barnes, Agnes Cherry, Karen Gliarmis and Jo Rhodes.
