This weekend is special for Steve and Ace Davis, who will see a shared dream they discovered on their honeymoon come true.

Ace’s Ale House, which had it’s soft opening last night, will kick off their grand opening weekend with live music, North Carolina brews and some unique hotdogs.

Owner Steve Davis said Friday night will be the first of many Friday Nights Live events that will feature a local musician. This Friday night will be Ed Davis

Saturday will be an all day acoustic jam, they’re calling Ace-A-Paloosa.

Davis said he believes Ace’s is fitting a need in the Wilson community.

“People will travel to Asheville and Raleigh and try lots of craft beer, but when they get home they realize that options are limited here,” he said. “This business will give them more options and keep them from having to travel.”

Davis said Ace’s has 18 N.C. beers on tap and will serve specialty hot dogs with 30 toppings.

“We’re the only place around where I think you can get a footlong Brightleaf hot dog,” he said.

Davis said ultimately Ace’s is about family.

“This business will allow me to spend more time with my wife,” he said. “We’re very lucky to find something like this that we enjoy doing together.”

Davis and his wife are both from Wilson County and he said that is where they want their business to stay.

“We wanna be right here,” said Davis. “I don’t see ourselves ever outgrowing this.”
