Police responded to a 3:13 a.m. shooting call to the 1700 block of Lipscomb Road. When officers arrived, they found 28-year-old Antonio D. Lucas of Wilson suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach area, according to Sgt. Steve Stroud.

Lucas was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment and was reported in stable condition, Stroud said.

After conducting an investigation, police obtained arrest warrants on 23-year-old Quamel D. McKeithan of Wilson. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police said Lucas, the victim, and the suspect, McKeithan, knew each other.

Both McKeithan and Jaramillo turned themselves in to the Wilson Police Department, Stroud said.
