Voting on Amendment One
Wilson County voters in May showed their resounding support for Amendment One, which defines marriage as between a man and a woman. Seventy percent of voters participating in the election cast votes in favor of the amendment.
North Carolina became the 30th state in the nation to ban same-sex marriages. The issue drew interest and support across the county. Rallies for and against the issue were held here in Wilson County.
